Welcome to mint.netii.net, my personal website. My name is Michael Ikey Doherty, and I'm currently living in the UK.
My main computing interests are Linux and Java; I use my spare computer time to develop various
projects. My various projects that I am working on at the moment:
- JDiplomacy (A Java Diplomacy-clone)
- JHax (A Java implemented hacking simulation game)
- mintChat (Java IRC client)
- Dredd (Java IRC bot)
- jIRC (Java IRC library for the afore-mentioned)
- SilverIRCd (C++ IRC daemon that I have yet to start
) - jMPD (Rich Java Client for mpd (music player daemon))
- Various networking utilities in Java (tcp-connect port scanner, proof-of-concept UDP flooder)
- And quite a few more
I also run one server in a 3-server IRC network (SilverIRC) and maintain that (at home); whilst giving
support on the Linux Mint distribution IRC channels (where I happen to be Channel Operator)
In the remaining spare time I manage to reap on the computer, I play games on emulators

Now that I've injected some life back into this site, I will be using it to keep people updated on my
various projects and such-like. I will also shortly be porting all my guides and tutorials to here,
to help people with understanding basic and advanced Linux usage/maintenance.
